Yes, lips on the Jason Wu spring runway were bold in this matte reddish-orange shade Scarlet Ibis from MAC Cosmetics! I'm loving bold lipstick more than ever--these really grownup shades are appealing in so many ways! Especially hot right now are all shades of orange including reddish-orange shades like Scarlet Ibis. This color is sold out at MAC.com but if you look around you may be able to find it elsewhere.

For the Jason Wu runway, lips were first outlined with Redd lip pencil-- Scarlet Ibis lipstick was applied--lastly a touch of MAC Pigment in Neo Orange was applied.

Fashion Design Trends Wearing Colored Denim Jeans Spring Colors 2012

Oh my gosh, aren't these raspberry colored denim jeans fabulous, especially worn with this little black jacket--as styled by French fashion blogger Coline of Et pourquoi pas Coline! While the raspberry denims are super fabulous the little black jacket is even more fabulous and a wardrobe essential for spring to wear with spring colors and prints alike! Having a few black jackets in different weights helps to really expand a wardrobe no matter what the season!

Oh, and Another Thing...

Have you had your annual winter cold yet? I have mine right now--I'm suffering with the usual symptoms--the stuffy nose, sore throat and the like. I tried Zicam but it didn't help--I think I just wasn't quick enough with it--you have to catch it very early for Zicam to help! So here I sit blogging through watery eyes, desperately trying to focus on words swimming across the computer screen.

I feel like I need a little chicken soup--I ran across a chicken soup recipe the other day that was made using a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store--of course, I wasn't sick then so I didn't copy the recipe--I wish I had!

Yes, I think a little fashion inspiration for late winter, early spring is in order! It's that time of year right now when it's sooo easy for me to get the blahs and I need some fun looks to inspire me!
I especially love these easy looks from Club Monaco--nothing complicated here--just some very cool layering!

Oh, and Another Thing...

I probably shouldn't bring this up (not a fun topic for some), but are you on a diet, or should I say, on a healthy eating plan? It seems that everyone I know is trying to eat healthier--I seriously started cutting out the fat and eating better (which means less) a week ago and I've lost three pounds-- which makes me very happy!

I'll keep you posted as to my progress. I've been using I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray as a butter substitute--butter is a major weakness for me! And, of course, portion control is the biggie for me-- especially cutting back on meat and eating more salad and veggies!

So it's a fancy French word for an ornamented hard-case handbag--and in this case it's ornamented with curly Mongolian fur.

I ran across these very cool looking Sperry Top-Sider boots and just had to share them! This is one of those boot styles that looks like a lace-up but has a zipper for easy on and off! I love the zipper--while I love the look of laces, which these have, I don't like lacing up boots!

These are the Sperry Top-Sider Starpoint boots--they have a leather moc style upper and a rubber sole for traction. This looks like a perfect winter to spring boot--although these are not waterproof they'd be perfect to wear on those cool spring days for a more casual look!

I absolutely love an extra long coat for winter warmth and, besides, there's nothing quite as chic either! Yes, a long wool coat tips the chicness scale in a way no other coat or jacket can! These long coats are so versatile-- they can be worn with jeans and evening gowns alike!

I love the coats pictured here and I'd love to have each of these colors--isn't the plum color divine! Of course, the classic color is the camel-- if you don't have a long camel coat you need to check out the sales going on now and you must get one! Kate Middleton Duchess Wears Alice Temperley Lace Gown To War Horse Premier 2012

Yes, Kate looked beautiful in her floor length black lace Alice Temperley evening gown as she and William attended the premier of Steven Spielberg's film War Horse in London Sunday evening-- on the eve of Kate's 30th birthday. The event was held to benefit The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry and a private reception was held at Buckingham Palace with William, Kate, and cast members to benefit the charity.

Kate's belted Temperley gown was embroidered in black flower and leaf motifs and had a soft beige underskirt. She carried a black clutch bag and wore diamond drop earrings and bracelet.

Kate and William walked the red carpet behind the cast, 600 service men and women, and the War Horse Joey! The Steven Spielberg film is based on a children's book written by Michael Morpurgo who also attended the premier.

Designer Handbags Large Leather Shoulder Bag ONA Venice 2012 Pictures

Isn't this a fabulous looking leather shoulder bag! I always have my eye out for nice leather bags and this bag seems to fit the bill! This is the Venice Bag by ONA a designer of fine camera bags and accessories. Yes, this is a camera bag--a bag designed to hold a SLR camera and lenses, but, what the heck, wouldn't it be the perfect shoulder bag for every day use!

This bag is made of fabulous looking leather and it has an adjustable strap with a removable shoulder pad--love, love, love the shoulder pad for keeping the strap in place! I love the look of this bag with its two outside buckled pockets on the front and a zipper compartment on the back.

This is a large bag--it measures 14.5"long X 13"wide X 5"deep and, because it's a camera bag, it has a customizable interior with 3 removable dividers--love this--I can actually determine how many inside dividers there will be! A flat inside pocket is large enough to hold an iPad--how cool is that! This looks like a serious work bag to me! This bag come is plum, stone and a camel color--I'd love to have one in each color--but I do love the stone which I've pictured--this color goes with absolutely everything! The camel is on back-order right now.

Cosmetics Makeup Runway Beauty Trends For 2012

Here are some of the hottest beauty trends from the 2012 runways--these are beauty looks the designers sent down the runway-- if a few designers use the same look in lips or eyes or cheeks it's called a hot trend!

Other hot runway beauty looks included really bold lips especially red, an extremely dark smokey eye, rosy cheeks and light rose lips.

As always some of these runway trends are just plain whacky or not at all wearable. One trend I don't think we'll see much of in real life is the extremely dark smokey eye--we've done this before--not too long ago and I think the trend is really more toward a lighter, brighter more natural look. Many of the grunge type looks use the really dark smokey eye and I think we'll still see it there.

I'm loving the use of white highlighter around the eyes for brightness--I also love glittery, metallic eyeshadow, the cat eye look if it's not overdone and red lips--I love red lipstick! I think the key here is not overdoing any of these trends.

I just love the rugged chic vibe of these Sorel snow boots! Love, love, love the faux shearling trim--with shearling being so hot right now!

These are the Sorel Women's Helen of Tundra II boots. Besides being the chicest snow boots around these have a seam-sealed upper which makes them waterproof--perfect to keep feet dry in snow, slush, and rain! To keep feet warm these have a Thinsulate insulation and a 3mm felt lining.

This Helen of Tundra boot has a grippy sole for traction, a leather upper with faux shearling trim and a decorative buckled strap. They also have a front zipper for easy on and off--absolutely love this feature!

The 13 inch shaft height of these boots makes them perfect to wear with skinny jeans or with a skirt and tights for a very stylish look!

Isn't this a very cool jacket! This is the Magdalena Jacket by Tory Burch! I just love the color which looks more red in this picture than here on the description page. They're calling the color brick red--I hope it's more red than coral.

I love the style of this jacket which looks like a dressed-up jean jacket with a moto vibe! This jacket is cropped and has fabulous bracelet length sleeves--got to love the shorter sleeves which are easier to push up and really show off the bracelets! It also has light shoulder pads which make me very happy--all jackets should have light shoulder pads for a truly pulled together look!

This jacket is a perfect piece for professional wear with a nice trouser or skirt--a piece which could be worn year-round!

I just have to have these glitter flats! I guess I'm in my glitter period--I just love most sparkly accessories including these flats. I would wear these as an everyday type flat for sure--perfect with a little sweater and boyfriend jeans! Oh, and wouldn't these be the perfect little flats for that New Year's party especially if there's dancing to be done!

If you're looking for a new red lipstick for the holidays Bobbi Brown's Burnt Red may be the one to try. I'd been searching the make-up sites looking for a real red when I discovered Burnt Red--a red without cool berry/wine shades, which tend to turn pink on my lips.

Bobbi Brown's Burnt Red is a warm brown-based red. Reviewers report that it's a true red that doesn't turn pink. I'm absolutely frustrated with trying to find a red which stays red especially when I'm wearing a red sweater or dress.
