I looked up Minaudier and this is what I found--min·au·dières-A small ornamental case for a woman's cosmetics, jewelry, or personal items that is often carried as a handbag. So it's a fancy French word for an ornamented hard-case handbag--and in this case it's ornamented with curly Mongolian fur.
