Oh, I love fur collars--especially a collar that is detachable to wear with various coats and jackets! There's nothing prettier than a gorgeous fur against a pretty face!

Oh my, I just love the style of this bag and the sumptuous looking leather of this bag! This is a Frye bag so I know this is a quality bag--it looks to me like a bag to use year after year! Frye is the oldest boot maker in America (since the 1860s)--they built their reputation on crafting leather into beautiful boots--if you're looking for leather boots or shoes give Frye a try!

This is the Frye Vintage Stud Shoulder Bag. This is a large bag--it measures 19" wide x 5" deep x 14" high. It has stud detailing and a shoulder drop of 11 inches.

Aren't these fabulous looking wool coats from J.Crew. I love all three styles and I'd love to have all three in my closet! My favorite is the middle coat--the wool envelope coat with a cocoon silhouette and a funnel collar! You can see these and other coats at J.Crew.

Oh, and Another Thing...

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! Ours was fun with family and friends--we hosted a dinner for ten which was a major undertaking for us, but everything was delicious and I think everyone had a good time! We just finished the turkey leftovers yesterday with the requisite turkey casserole--I've discovered an amazing number of dishes one can make with leftover turkey--it's a wonder I don't have tryptophan poisoning! The turkey was just fourteen pounds but seemed much bigger!

Did you go shopping this weekend? If you did, I hope you were safe! I still haven't recovered from trying to land a Cabbage Patch kid in the 1980s. As a result of that ugly experience I hate crowds, so I opted to stay at home this weekend and I shopped online! Shopping online worked out great--I got most of my Christmas shopping done! Of course, I knew what I wanted so that made it easy! I also shopped online yesterday--Cyber Monday. I did manage to find a few things I needed--I hate passing up a bargain!

And, yes, that's snow you see drifting down the page--I couldn't resist putting it up with December coming! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

It's Cyber Monday 2011 Happy Shopping!

Yes, it's Cyber Monday--that special day when those of us who love to shop online spend the day glued to our computers looking for hot deals! This year retailers expect 122 million Americans to shop for special deals, percentages off items, and free shipping. Eight out of ten retailers are offering special deals today!

I've looked around a bit and I've found a few links to lists of deals--here, here, here, here and here! The sites on these lists are just the tip of the iceberg--visit your favorite retailers and you'll probably find some good deals!

Fashion Design Trends Western Themed Wedding Lauren Bush & David Lauren Pictures

Just discovered the Labor Day wedding of Lauren Bush and David Lauren and had to share pictures of this romantic event with you.

Lauren is the niece of George & Laura Bush and the granddaughter of George H.W. and Barbara Bush and David is the son of designer Ralph Lauren. Lauren is now using the name Lauren Bush-Lauren.

The western themed wedding, which was attended by just 200 guests, took place at Ralph Lauren's Colorado ranch. I can't begin to imagine how they managed to keep the guest list at 200!

Lauren's tulle, lace and crystal gown, designed by Ralph Lauren, was beyond fabulous with 100 craftspeople spending 3,000 hours hand-embroidering the pearls and small flower motifs. To go along with the western theme Lauren and her bridesmaids wore cowboy boots. Lauren arrived at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage!

See the slideshow of pictures at Vogue.

Women's Rain Boots Stylish Waterproof Knee-High Platform Boots Fall Winter 2011 2012

Women's Rain Boots Stylish Waterproof Platform Knee-High Boots Fall Winter 2011 2012

Aren't these very cool looking rain boots! I just love the stylish, edgy look! These boots have all the bells and whistles--a platform, laces, metal grommets and cool buckles! Who says foul weather boots have to look clunky--although I do love my clunky boots too!

This stylish knee-high rain boot is the Lapins boot by Hunterin black. Although these look like they lace up they really don't. These slip-on boots do not lace or unlace--the laces are decorative--just for looks!

These boots are 15" tall and they have a 3.5" heel with a 1" platform. Wouldn't these be fabulous with skinny jeans! These boots also come in dark olive, espresso, eggplant and gunmetal.

Oh, and another thing...

Are you having Thanksgiving at your house? I'm excited to be having it this year--I've been polishing silver, finalizing the menu and making grocery lists--one for the supermarket and another for Costco. Yes, I love Costco! They have the best dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, and dips and chips and those kinds of things! I ran across a recipe for sausage stuffing with apples, cranberries and raisins that looks fabulous. I can't wait to try it!

Can it really be the week before Thanksgiving! I just don't know where this fall has gone--it's flown by and winter will be here any moment! And I'm sure winter will also fly by but not as fast as I'd like! I really dislike cold weather--I freeze from November through April, so I was looking for scarves and hats to keep me warm when I ran across these fabulous handmade hand knitted wool hats--not your normal knit hats designs but super stylish designs! I do love a knit hat--especially a wool knit hat to keep me warm! And, wouldn't these make great Christmas gifts! These hats are by MaxMelody an Etsy shop full of fabulous knit designs.

Fashion Design Trends Jackie Kennedy's Style Pictures

All About Jackie's Style**

Jackie's style came from her life – east Hampton, the sea, horses; French tailoring of Hubert de Givenchy and Chanel, her love for books and her family. But even when she wore the most expensive European designs, she managed to look simple, athletic and truly American.

In her sense of style, Jackie knew always what worked best for her. She was not intimidated into wearing what others were wearing. Jackie insisted on sleeveless dresses when they were unheard of. She became one of the trend setters wearing trousers at a time when pantsuits were considered unacceptable. The most important thing about the Jackie Kennedy style is that it was not static. The major changes in her life, her character and her personality, found their reflection in her style transformations. According to Benno Graziani, the former editor of Paris Match, “Jackie Bouvier has nothing to do with Jackie Kennedy, and Jackie Kennedy has nothing to do with Jackie Onassis. For those who knew her well, these were three different people.” Even her face changed dramatically, following her life transformations.

Her mind, the main contributor to her style, remained always searching, active. She knew the right moment to put away her perfect suits and little white gloves.

The Jackie Kennedy style was not about her outfits or decorating her homes. It was more about the way she conducted her life. Jackie considered herself an aristocrat. She did not want to be known as the first lady, but as Mrs. Kennedy. Her understanding of aristocracy was specifically put by her as “courage, and after that, taste and responsibility – and endurance.” Jackie certainly had these qualities more than anyone else.

Jackie Kennedy Style – Fashion Trends She Set

Sleeveless A-line dresses; A good French suit to the middle of the knee with three-quarter sleeves on the jacket. The quality of the material is very important. Dresses of Valentino and Givenchy; White jeans. She liked the combination of beltless white jeans with a black turtleneck, never tucked in, but pulled down over the hips; Hermes scarfs; Dark sunglasses. Once she was no longer a political wife, Jackie almost did not take the dark glasses off. She admitted that sunglasses gave her the opportunity to watch people. Pearl necklaces; Jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels.
