Hot for fall and winter is coral red lipstick--perfect to go with fall colors. J.Crew and Australian Lipstick Queen Poppy King have created the most sought after coral-red for fall called Poppy King for J.Crew. J.Crew had been creating a mixed pigment coral-red lip color for photo shoots which everyone saw and loved and wanted, so they had Poppy King duplicate it in a salable lipstick.
“It was one of the most labor-intensive shades I’ve ever done,” Poppy King explained of her quest to create the perfect shade. “Initially I did it as a red base and put orange in it. But it just wasn’t coming out the way I wanted it. So I flipped it, doing an orange and putting a little red into it. I wanted the natural lip color to show through underneath so it’s not garish—with a touch of shimmer to provide dimension. It’s like a really chic tinted lip balm and it suits every single person, like a mood ring!”
The bad news is that this lipstick is sold out online--the good news is they're supposed to get more in!
