The smokey smoldering eyeshadow look is hot for summer 2011. This look is from Etro's Spring 2011 Runway with a bright purple smokey eye.
The dark gray smokey eye has been around for a number of years now with variations being in size and darkness with a lighter gray eye being the most recent trend. The latest, newest looks in the smokey eye is the use of brighter, lighter real colors--purples, greens, blues, pinks, yellows, and others.

Here's the face chart for the makeup look at Etro Spring 2011 with dramatic smokey eyes which was created by Charlotte Tilbury for MAC Cosmetics.
To create the smokey eye MAC PRO Rich Purple and Pure White Paintsticks were mixed and blended around the eyes up to the brows then Stars N’ Rockets eyeshadow was applied over the paintsticks.
The lipstick is MAC Shy Girl Cremesheen.
