Skirts of all styles are hot right now-full and straight, pleated and flared, maxi and mini. These images, from the recent fashion weeks, give us an idea of just how stylish and fun skirt looks can be. There's almost every style of skirt pictured here.
The key to wearing skirts is to find styles that looks good on you. Once you've found a couple appropriate styles you can gradually add these to your wardrobe in different colors and materials. Finding the right length can be the hardest challenge. Often I'll find a skirt I like, but the length is all wrong and I'll have it shortened to just the right length. I've found that it's really worth having the alterations done.
I love a maxi dress that hits a few inches above the ankle-in order to get this length I almost always have to have the dress shortened-the same with a maxi skirt. A pencil skirt that hits about an inch below or an inch or two above the knee can look so chic-I tend to go for the below the knee length for a more conservative professional look and above the knee for more casual.
