half moon or reverse moon manicures
for fall 2010!
A hot look for manicures for fall and winter is the Half Moon or Reverse French Manicure. This is also called the Cuban and the Gatsby-oh, so many names! I think this has the clean neat look of the regular French manicure which, by the way, can be worn along with this moon on the nail.
What's also cool about this is you can do this half-moon manicure at home. First, paint your nails with the nail polish color you want and let them dry thoroughly. Next, use a white nail polish art pen like the one from Sally Hansen to create the moon shape on top of your color. Finally, apply a topcoat to protect your color. I have seen the little white stick-on rings for binder paper used as a stencil for the half moons.
