With much celebration I see that sheer and natural is the hot makeup look for spring! I'm loving this fresh, youthful, romantic look!

At the heart of this look is a sheer, flawless matte foundation. Less is more when it comes to this entire look and a light touch is needed with the foundation! A light mineral makeup would be perfect for this look! The smokey eye is still hot, but with a much softer, wispy look-eye shadows in metallic gold, silver and bronze are hot, as well as, metallic blues, grays and purples! I love the metallics! To set off eyes eyebrows are a little thicker, eyeliner is soft and smudged, and lashes are long and lush-I'm thinking about giving artificial lashes a try! To add a bit of color to the face-cheeks are lightly flushed with pink or peach blush and lips sport just a hint of color for a soft, nude, natural look.

Today's fabulous fashion find!

I'm loving this fabulous new Coach bag for Spring! Yes, they're calling this a mini pouch, but I don't think there's anything mini about it! Yes, it's a small bag if you compare it to some of the popular ultra huge bags, but let's get real, this bag measures over twelve inches long and it's six inches high! I think it the perfect size for me when I don't feel like carrying a bigger bag! And isn't this the perfect size for you if you're short and you need a smaller bag!

And this Legacy Mini Pouch has all the bells and whistles-leather and chain straps, a drawstring closure, and an outside back zip pocket.

I'm love, love, loving this metallic bronze with silver trim! Isn't it fabulous! This also comes in metallic navy with silver trim. Also, just as fabulous, is the lilac (not metallic) and silver bag! I'm loving the lilac, but I think the bronze will be more versatile for me!

Yes, this bag is on my wishlist for spring!

Yes, Jason Wu, a young New York designer, designed the gown. Wu, born in Taiwan, studied at Parsons in New York. Wu had no idea the First Lady had picked his gown-he found out at the same time everyone else found out! Wu told People Magazine “I was in awe when I saw her. I was emotional, I was amazed.” Wu also shared that he along with four friends sewed the flowers onto the dress by hand. “I wanted the dress to reflect hope, fantasy, a dream [because] this is a pretty surreal moment we’re living in," Wu said.


Micheel wore Loree Rodkin jewelry: 60-carat white gold and triple rose cut diamond drop earrings, a 10 carat center stone white gold and black rhodium rose cut diamond ring, and white gold and diamond bangles.

Who Has Designed Fashionable Michelle Obama's Inaugural Gown?

Yes, the huge question to be answered on Inauguration Day for fashionistas here and abroad is who ended up designing Michelle Obama's Inaugural gown. The designer she chose will be an instant industry celeb if they are not already. Certainly a dream for any designer whose gown will surely end up in the Smithsonian!
I think we'll see a modern chic design as opposed to the more classic looks which we've seen with recent administrations. And, there will certainly be those who are crazy over her choice and those who are critical!



Women's Wear Daily, the fashion industry authority, has posted 35 Inaugural Day design proposal sketches for the new First Lady.

Yes, Pantone-the design industry's global color authority, has picked this sunny, warm Mimosa as the 2009 color of the year. In general, I'm not a huge fan of yellow, but I do love this rich shade!

Are you wondering why mimosa yellow is the choice for 2009? I was wondering too! Pantone explains that in these tough times an uplifting, reassuring color is needed! "The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute(R). "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation," she continued.

According to Pantone, Mimosa works with any other color, has appeal for men and women, and translates to both interior and fashion.

Well, I thought I'd take a look at how it works!

Animal prints just don't go out of style! Leopard prints in particular are hotter than ever. I think you either love animal prints or you hate them! I do love them if they're not overdone! I love a touch of animal print-a strappy animal print heel or an animal print bag- with a black outfit, for an easy, classic chic look.

As we can see from these ads-leopard prints will be hot for yet another season! Leopard prints abound in these ads-from the D&G Cruise 2009 ad campaign and the Just Cavalli Spring/Summer 09 ad campaign.
