Hot Straight Styles for Spring Summer 2009

I'm loving these straight hairstyles-
from the Chloé Spring 2009 Runway!

One of the chicest looks for spring summer 2009 is a polished straight hair look. This straight style is fluid and sleek, but not overdone for a chic natural look. Hairstylist Luigi Murenu, at the Chloé runway, created these fabulous straight hair looks with both medium and long length hair. To create these looks Murenu parted the hair and blew it dry while brushing it down with a Mason Pearson brush. Murenu then loosely wound the hair on a one-inch curling iron and brushed the curl out of the warm hair to create a smooth texture.

Styling Notes:

Get a good haircut. There's no substitute for an artful haircut!

Don't shampoo every day. Too much shampooing removes natural oils.

Periodically give your hair a deep conditioning.

If you're using irons or hot rollers use a heat-protectant on your hair.

To create volume and body in fine limp hair use a hair mousse or gel.

For hair that tends to frizz use an anti-frizz serum.

For dull, dry hair use a shine finishing spray.

Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, using MAC cosmetics, created a young "pure and super natural” look at Chloé. Tilbury's inspirations were Lauren Hutton, Jerry Hall and Brooke Shields. The look created has a definite 70's vibe! Tilbury used MAC Face and Body Foundation with a touch of MAC Cream Colour Base in Premeditated on the cheeks to create a slight blush. Eyelashes were curled and brushed with MAC's Mascara X and MAC Eyebrows was lightly applied to brows.
