Yes, Pantone-the design industry's global color authority, has picked this sunny, warm Mimosa as the 2009 color of the year. In general, I'm not a huge fan of yellow, but I do love this rich shade!
Are you wondering why mimosa yellow is the choice for 2009? I was wondering too! Pantone explains that in these tough times an uplifting, reassuring color is needed! "The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute(R). "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation," she continued.
According to Pantone, Mimosa works with any other color, has appeal for men and women, and translates to both interior and fashion.
Well, I thought I'd take a look at how it works!
